1- Needs analysis and strategic policy action plan
His output will be based on a comprehensive needs analysis to be conducted in 3 partner countries with immigrant/refugee children, and primary school and guidance teachers. Pi will be in charge of reaching out immigrant students in Turkey and Ankara Milli Egitim Mudurlugu will be in charge of interviewing with teachers. In Italy and Portugal our University partners will handle data collection and their analysis. Further to the needs analysis, partners will gather in Italy and organise a workshop for 3 days, where a participant per partner will participate, in order to develop a strategic action plan for policy makers based on the results of needs analysis.
2- Curricula Development for Teacher Training on Social Inclusion
Two curricula will be developed for intensive training of primary school and counseling and guidance teachers respectively based on the needs analysis. All University partners will be in charge of developing the curricula and applicant will be the leading partner of this output in close collaboration with the Italian and Portugese partners. These curricula will be used to train 20 teachers per country (C2) which will be done through a training of trainers (ToT) firstly which will take place in Turkey (C1) with participation of 6 teachers per country during 5 days by trainers from partner organisations.
3- Toolkit for social inclusion of immigrant students in primary schools
Based on the curricula developed under output 2 above, in leadership of our Portuguese partner University of Coimbra together with help from other partners, will develop a toolkit for social inclusion of immigrant students so that a variety of teachers from guidance to language ones can use the tools and social inclusion principles in their classes.
4- Migrant-friendly schools network
This output will be a network of primary schools in Turkey, and across Europe which have immigrant students. We will create an email list of our schools, and will create a profile for each of them in our project’s website with their descriptions such us number of students, number of immigrant students, difficulties faced, good practice examples etc. They will be able to share their good practices in social inclusion of immigrant children that they have been applying in their schools on our project website.
